Skatedeck

Creating a skateboard has been a dream of mine, not because I ride them, but because I find the art that goes into them fascinating. For this project, I aimed to represent a part of my culture. Two things that immediately came to mind were alebrijes and el calendario del sol. With this concept in mind, I brought my own alebrije to life using Adobe Fresco.

Following this creative journey, I took my artwork to the skateboard, tracing and painting it with acrylic paint and Posca pens. The finishing touch was adding a touch of gold detailing using gold leaf. This project allowed me to blend digital design with traditional art techniques, bringing my cultural inspiration to life on a skateboard canvas.

Yeti

“Yeti” was a project conducted using screen printing techniques. It entailed creating an illustration in Photoshop based on an existing image and applying an effect that allowed it to be printed in various colors. The design required 4 colors, which translated to 4 layers/screens. I then burned the design onto the screens to create these amazing posters!

Cup Holders

This project involved screen printing a design onto an unconventional surface. I decided to create coasters using oven-baked clay, mixing colors to achieve a uniform texture. Next, I developed a design and burned it onto screens. After several attempts, I successfully transferred the design onto the coasters, overcoming challenges such as color transfer and ensuring durability. Finally, I cured them with heat to ensure the design adhered properly and the coasters were fully functional.
