Typeface

Designing this typeface was inspired by the memories that I have of playing cards with my family. Drawing inspiration from the world of board games, particularly playing cards, I created the initial sketches of a functional typeface. The goal was to create a consistent type across all of the characters.

Initial Sketching

Take a look at the sketching process!

Beginning with sketches, I incorporated the four distinct elements of playing cards into the design. Certain letters, such as ‘J’ for Joker, received special attention, while maintaining a consistent distribution across all characters.

From Sketch to Digital File

After numerous iterations to ensure uniformity in visual aesthetic across all letters, I arrived at the final design. Transitioning from sketches to digital format, I utilized the Glyphs App to digitize each character, creating a cohesive typeface ready for use across various programs and platforms.
